Andrew Heywood, 23, from Bideford, Devon, was presented with the Gethin Webb Award when he graduated from the BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University in late September
The award is presented to the student for making the learning experience the most enjoyable and is voted by his fellow students on the Rural Enterprise and Land Management course.
Andrew said: “My current ambitions are to pass my APC and CAAV exams to become qualified. In time I would like to be able to run my family’s sheep farm while still practicing as a surveyor. I feel this would give me a balance of office time and practical farming.”
Andrew, from Devon, said: “Studying at Harper Adams University was the best experience of my life. None of the previous generations of my family have studied at university.
Harper has given me lifelong friends and really gave me a number of invaluable contacts across the country.”
